Harry Mason Obituary

Harry W. Mason, age 69, passed away April 3, 2024, at Tri-Point Medical Center in Concord Township, Ohio.  He was born February 6, 1955, in Painesville to Harry R. and Josephine (Bosely) Mason.

Harry graduated from Mentor High School, and he also graduated from Lakeland Community College and received his Bachelor’s degree from Dyke College.

When Harry was a junior in High school he met the love of his life, Bethann Seiter.  They married a few years after graduation and were very happy until Beth’s death in 2014.

Harry worked for TRW for many years. He also worked for Dirt Devil and Gooch & Housego Manufacturing. He oversaw quality assurance.  However, Harry’s favorite job was working as a ranger for the National Park Service at Mt. Ranier National Park in Washington State.

Harry was very active in sports in high school and was an accomplished musician playing the saxophone in Mentor’s marching band and swing band.

He was an avid fisherman and spent many summers with Beth on his boat at Mentor Lagoons Yacht Club.

Harry was a hockey fanatic.  He loved watching games, and he played semi-pro for many years. He also coached young children through the Mentor Hockey League for 14 years, and was proud to be known as “Coach Harry.”

He was a member of Lake Metroparks’ Show Biz Kidz and loved to sing and perform with them at area nursing homes and senior centers.

He was a member of Mentor Plains United Methodist Church.

Harry spent much time with his dear friend, Terry, and her family.  All the kids fondly called him “Uncle Henry” or “Mr. Harry”.  Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, birthdays, and special events just won’t be the same without you, Harry!  The whole family will miss you!

Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Bethann L. (Seiter) Mason; his parents; and his sister, Darlene Marie Mason.

He is survived by his very dear friend and companion, Therese M. Ryan, of Eastlake and many more friends who loved him dearly.
